Ginni
Hestrom PedersenClass of 1968 Current
U-High students won’t fully appreciate the contributions of Ginni
Pedersen until after graduation.
Ginni has worked tirelessly to help establish ways for U-High
graduates to remain connected to their school and each other. Ginni
has dedicated much of her adult life to serving U-High and the
Laboratory Schools. Ginni
was one of the driving forces behind the establishment of the U-High
Alumni Association and an alumni database.
She was also instrumental in the creation and publication of
an alumni newsletter and serves as its editor.
Her leadership and teamwork have been major factors in the
success and growth of the U-High Alumni Association and will help
assure that the Association will thrive well into the future. Ginni
is a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Laboratory
Schools and is very active with U-High Boosters.
Her friend Marie Dawson may have captured Ginni’s
contributions best: “Watching Ginni in action during Booster and
CAC activities is very inspiring.
She is extraordinarily attentive to representing all of the
constituents and ever mindful of the big picture.
She always seems to know precisely when to share her
experiences as a former U-High student, staff, parent, and volunteer
to help ‘get the job done.’” Ginni served as a parent and alumni facilitator on the Senior
Planning Committee in 2000 and 2001; her major contributions on that
committee helped preserve the tradition of Class Night. Ginni
and her husband Paul live in Bloomington; children Jerusha and
Christopher are U-High graduates, and Nels is currently a junior at
U-High. |
