"FRIENDS" Even more than a career, State Farm allowed me the opportunity to meet great friends. After 15 years with the same company, some of my closest friends are from my "early State Farm days". I was happy. My career kept progressing and my friendships grew.
"MAD ABOUT YOU" Speaking of friendships, I also met my husband, Greg, at State Farm. (That's actually okay there!) We dated for 2 years and were married in May, 1989. Greg is a Eureka College grad, an avid sportsman, and a great dad. Between the two of us we have produced some hopelessly competitive kids.
"CHEERS" We've celebrated the
births of 2 wonderful and energetic boys. Brett, 8, looks like
his dad and loves basketball, soccer, baseball and track. Austin,
5, will start kindergarten in the fall and wants to be a "soccer
man" or a Jedi knight when he grows up. As all parents can
attest, these little guys
"THE TWILIGHT ZONE" (oops, I mean, New Jersey!) In 1996 we moved to Oak Ridge, New Jersey. One of the most rewarding and satisfying opportunities in my life. I was ready to experience more than what Central Illinois had to offer and wanted to broaden my horizons: culturally, geographically and emotionally. New Jersey was just the place! And while I loved the trips to New York city Broadway shows, shopping and being where the action was, I have to say, it's a pretty hectic pace.
"HOME IMPROVEMENT" Our jobs have brought us "back to Normal" for now and I've come to appreciate what Bloomington-Normal has to offer. The hectic New Jersey pace made me realize that "having it all" depends on your definition of "all." I now work part-time, 3 days a week, which I think is a "home improvement." I enjoy helping out weekly in Brett's school, taking time for myself, playing volleyball and appreciating what I have. SO, that's my TV celebrity life! Only, I don't have to worry about the tabloids.
Hobbies and Interests: Sports (just a little slower and center of gravity is lower), creative memories scrap booking (I don't really like this but feel compelled to do it). Personal / Professional Achievements: CPCU Designation - chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter; 2 children - natural child birth (NO epidural... OUCH!) Words of Wisdom:
Get an epidural (just kidding) Favorite memory or song from your days at U High: Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Boston, Supertramp, Cars, Sister Sledge "We Are Family." I was always a disco queen at heart. Confession: I never really liked Freebird. How many miles will you travel to this reunion? 3.26 miles approximately
