| There
have been several changes since the 10th Reunion. But in
a quick review, I graduated from the University of Illinois with
a degree in English - ha, just what kind of a real job does that
prepare you for? But I did have fun reading those books...
anyway, I started working for State Farm and got married to Doug
who I met at the U of I. He's an architect and now
owns his own construction company - residential, custom homes.
I've held many positions at State Farm, we were up in the Chicago
suburbs for a while, but State Farm transferred me back down
to Bloomington. My most recent position was as the Manager
of the Public Affairs Department - really exciting and challenging. |

But over the last almost
9 years I've also managed to have three kids, all boys!
So, about a year ago I started realizing I was better
at being a department head than a Mom. That didn't sit too well
with me. And, though some people can, I wasn't able
to "do it all". So, tomorrow actually, I'll start
out on a new adventure, a part-time job in Human Resources still
with State Farm.
So now I guess I'd be
categorized as a Soccer Mom - only in my case it's hockey, baseball
and swimming. I've decided I like this slower pace and
feel like it's important for my boys. I still love reading,
and when I'm not trucking kids around I do volunteer on a couple
not-for-profit boards for local social service organizations
(United Way, Child Protection Network and the Children's Advocacy
Center). I also enjoy helping Doug out with designing houses
and home renovation projects. Or I should say, I enjoy
coming up with ideas for him to do!!

Education and Degrees:
BA in English, University
of Illinois
Favorite memory or song
from your days at U High: I
guess I'd have to say the friends, it doesn't seem like there
is the time (or I have the energy) to make friends the center
of life like in High School.

of Kindergarten. |
