Illinois Heartland Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association is offering a $2,000 scholarship through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund. To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be women who are U.S. citizens and residents of Mclean or Woodford County, Illinoi, have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and are attending or have been accepted at an accredited U.S. college or university authorized to confer a minimum of a baccalaureate degree. The Spanish American Cultural Center has worked hard to make funds available to benefit Latino students. Students must be of Latin American descent (1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation) with either the applicant, a parent or grandparent born outside the USA, be a high school graduate from one of the following Illinois counties, or have a GED Certificate from an institution located in any of the following counties: Sangamon, Cass, Douglas, Champaign, Macon, McLean or Morgan, must be no older than 20 years of age by September 1st of the coming school year, have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a non-weighted scale and attend school as a full-time student in the coming fall at an accredited community or four year college/university. This scholarship is available to all seniors looking for financial assistance with post high school education. The selected students must have attended Fairview for a minimum of two academic years. Application deadline is April 13. Please see the Counseling office for application.
This tuition only scholarship, ranging from $750 to $2,500, is presented to students who either a Swiss national or of Swiss descent (with documents of proof) who have a minimum ACT composite score of 26. Classic Tournament, Inc. is offering four scholarships to student-athletes ranging from $500 to $1,000. Student-athletes who participated in the tournament may apply by completing an application, submitting an essay, their transcript, and a letter from their basketball coach verifying that they have or will earn a varsity letter in basketball. The purpose of this scholarship is to promote careers in business, transportation logistics, and physical distribution. Although all students may apply, preference will be given to students pursuing these and related courses of study. An essay is required. Deadline is March 1.
