Students can begin to schedule a time to meet with their counselor to discuss their course requests for the 2017-2018 school year. This time will be used to add, delete, or alter any choices. Sign up lists will be posted the week before in the counseling office. Reminder, official schedules with class times and assigned teachers will not be received until registration in July.
Week of March 27-31: Appointments for current juniors to review schedule requests
Week of April 3-7: Appointments for current sophomores to review schedule requests.
Week of April 10-13: Appointments for current freshman to review schedule requests.
If you are currently enrolled in an AP class and would like to take the AP test, please register today. There is a link on the front page of our U-High website that says Total Registration. Please go to the link and register and print off the confirmation sheet and attach a check made out to University High School for the amount shown on the confirmation sheet.
The Spanish American Cultural Center has worked hard to make funds available to benefit Latino students. Students must be of Latin American descent (1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation) with either the applicant, a parent or grandparent born outside the USA, be a high school graduate from one of the following Illinois counties, or have a GED Certificate from an institution located in any of the following counties: Sangamon, Cass, Douglas, Champaign, Macon, McLean or Morgan, must be no older than 20 years of age by September 1st of the coming school year, have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a non-weighted scale and attend school as a full-time student in the coming fall at an accredited community or four year college/university. All current juniors will take the ACT test on April 19th. It will take place at 8:00 in the ISU Brown Ballroom. Students will need to arrive by 7:45 with a number 2 pencil and authorized calculator. The counselors will make sure that all juniors are registered to take the exam. Students will be dismissed once testing is complete. Testing should end at approximately 12:30-1:00pm.
This scholarship is available to all seniors looking for financial assistance with post high school education. The selected students must have attended Fairview for a minimum of two academic years. Application deadline is April 13. Please see the Counseling office for application.
This tuition only scholarship, ranging from $750 to $2,500, is presented to students who either a Swiss national or of Swiss descent (with documents of proof) who have a minimum ACT composite score of 26. An application, essay, and Swiss descent documentation forms are required. Information and application are available at www.sbschicago.org/education.html. Deadline is in March.
