The halls of U-High have recently been filled with U-Crew shirts, but the numbers weren’t where the members wanted them to be. Falling short of their $1000 goal, the U-Crew worked to sell more.

U-Crew sponsor Bob Fitzgerald said although they didn’t reach their initial goal of raising $1000 by October 21, they were close, and decided to continue offering the shirts to students.

“We saw that we hadn’t reached some students, and since we were so close to our goal, we figured why not keep selling,” Fitzgerald said.

The money raised from the sale of the shirts is being donated to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.

“I really like the work St. Jude does. Kids are a huge part of our society, and people often think we don’t need to help them or that they aren’t in these situations,” Fitzgerald said.

Senior U-Crew member Cullen Kennel said reaching their goal was important to everyone involved.

“It’s not only a way to get the U-Crew out there, but we are helping kids at the same time. We may not have reached our goal the first time around, but we were still happy we were able to raise money for the kids,” Kennel said.

Fitzgerald said with the sales made this week, the $1000 goal will be met.
