Not such a long walk for 10 juniors

For 10 lucky juniors, they will never have to walk down from the junior lot again.

“I’ve never seen students so happy when they left my office, as the day that group of 10 left after I gave them the news,” assistant principal Steve Wilder said.

The junior lot was getting too full, so the first 10 people that bought their parking passes in the fall now have overflow passes.

“The best part is I don’t have to walk up and down the hill anymore,” junior Emily Allen said.

Wilder said parking services contacted U-High with the concern and the request to move ahead with the temporary passes, and he agreed.

“It’s a lot more convenient to get places, although now I have to drive all my friends around,” junior Anneke Schweers said.  

This has never happened before, so it’s a big surprise to the few involved.

“The only bad thing is I wish we got to park there sooner,” Allen said.
