I assign a project each quarter that is based on prior chemistry knowledge learned in the classroom, student research that extends outside of the classroom, and creativity or student expression. Examples include a student safety poster, 16-sided shape for a chosen element with 16 properties, "element ball", element super hero, and the construction of a model for a chosen molecule.

In my Spanish 4 class we read a novel called Amalia. After finishing the story, students have 3 different project options to choose from: 1) They can reenact a scene from the novel by writing their own scripts (in Spanish); 2) they can write a song in Spanish that relates to the story. They must perform it on a tape/cd or live; 3) they can write a children's book with illustrations that hits at least 25 events in the story. They have to read their story to the class. Iiked giving them these project options because they hist some of the different intelligences.
