Ulfius begins trying to convince Arthur that his mother, Queen Igraine, is the falsest lady in the world. He also tells Arthur that Igraine is a traitor to Arthur and his kingdom. Ulfius claims that Igraine is the causer of great damage to Arthur’s kingdom. Igraine then tells Arthur that Ulfius and Merlin really know what happened. Igranie tells of how Merlin made King Uther look like her husband, The Duke of Cornwall. They would spend the night together and thereby gat a child who would become Arthur. Igraine tells Arthur that Merlin is more to blame for any trouble than she is. Merlin tells them that Igraine is the mother of Athur and then by the request of Merlin, Sir Ector tells Arthur that he should believe Merlin’s Story.
Igraine and Arthur embrace each other and the two wept. Then Arthur declares that on that day there should be a great feast celebrating the Arthur's mother Igraine.
On the same day a squire came to Arthur on horseback. The squire told Arthur of his Knight, Sir Miles, and how he had been killed. In the forest, another Knight had killed the squire’s master. The squire wanted revenge for his master’s death. King Arthur’s noble Knights each gave their advice. Finally, the squire asked to be knighted by King Arthur. Arthur agreed and this Knight would later be known as Sir Grifflet.
