Launcelot leaving Dame Elaine
|
|
|
After
Elaine drove
Launcelot mad, he ran naked out of the bedroom window.
Sir Bors,
Sir Ector, and
Sir Lionel went and told
Guenever that Launcelot
had run off. She was really sad and fell to the ground. The three
knights left and rode from country to country searching for Launcelot
high and low. They rode for three months looking for him.
Along the
way they met Sir Melione de Tartare. He was on his way to see
King
Arthur and Queen Guenever. Sir Bors asked him if he would tell King
Arthur, Queen Guenever, and the fellowship of the Round Table that they
could not find Launcelot anywhere. Sir Melione said he would.
When the Round Table heard of this news, twenty-three
knights rode out through England, Wales and Scotland to find Launcelot.
Sir Launcelot was always very cold, hungry and thirsty. The
twenty- three knights who rode out to find him split into groups of two
and three, and talked about a place to meet up when they were done
looking for Launcelot.
Sir Aglovale and
Sir Percivale rode together to their mom’s
home. Their mom used to be a Queen. She was overjoyed that they came.
She told them that when they were young, they’re father was killed,
leaving four sons to her. But two of the sons had died. She asked them
to stay with her, but they said they couldn’t live with her because they
were part of the Round Table and had rules to abide by. They left,
leaving their mother behind, very sad.
