Summary
After
the quest of Sangreal was fulfilled, all the knights that were still alive
came back to the
Round Table.
King Arthur and
Queen Guinevere were
especially happy about their homecoming.
The
whole time Sir Lancelot was on the quest he was thinking about
Guinevere.
When he returned, he resumed his affair with Queen Guinevere even though he
had made a promise of perfection on his quest. Everyone in the court was
starting to notice and gossip about the affair, especially
Sir Agravaine
because he had a big mouth.
There
were many women who were attracted to Sir Lancelot, but Sir Lancelot
only wanted Guinevere. Because of the rumors, Sir Lancelot had to stay away
from the Queen so people would stop gossiping.
One day, Queen
Guinevere
called Sir Lancelot into her room and questioned him about why he was
avoiding her. She was scared that his love for her was fading, and she wondered
why he didn’t act happy when he was around her.
Sir
Lancelot apologized to the Queen and explained the importance of his quest
for the Sangreal. He also said that many people in
the court were speaking of their affair, but he still loved her. He told her that he was
worried more about her than he was about himself. Sir Lancelot said
that he may be able to escape, but the Queen would have to stay there and
take the criticism and face the consequences. He told
her that he did not
want to see her dishonored.
