So, as the King and Queen departed the castle, the Queen asked Sir Bors to go to her chamber.  When Sir Bors entered he said, “Madam, what do you have to say about what I am doing, since I do not really have a say in the matter.  I dread that the Knights of the Round Table might become suspicious of me.  Also Sir Lancelot would not have failed you; He has proven that to you when you have been in danger before, but instead you chose to drive him out of the country.  I marvel how you want me to do your bidding when you’re at risk for shame.”

Then the Queen said, “I will put all my faith in your grace and in anything that you do.”  The Queen then kneeled on both knees and asked Sir Bors for forgiveness.

King Arthur entered the Queen’s chamber and found her kneeling before Sir Bors.  Sir Bors was helping the Queen to her feet while telling the Queen, “Madam, you have dishonored me.”

The King then told the knight, “Have mercy on my Queen and fight for her.”

Sir Bors responded, “You require me to do the greatest thing that any man has ever asked me to do.  I grant my lord, for Sir Lancelot’s and for the sake of you, the Queen and Sir Lancelot.  For my sake I need to be victorious for the Queen unless a better knight comes along.”  Then Sir Bors made a promise to the King and Queen that he would not fail them as they left the room.

Then one day Sir Bors left and rode off to talk with Sir Lancelot.  When Sir Bors arrived, Sir Lancelot was with Sir Brasias; they told Sir Bors of their adventures.  Sir Lancelot and Sir Bors then discussed the battle and how it would be a tough fight for him.  Sir Lancelot said, “I pray that you are ready for battle, but wait until you see me coming.  “Mador is a knight that gets enraged the more you make him suffer and he becomes quicker throughout the battle.”

Bors said, “Sir, let me deal with him.”  So Sir Bors left Sir Lancelot and went to the court.  At the court many knights were upset with him because he would be fighting for the Queen, but the knights thought that the Queen was wrong for having someone else fight her fights.

Sir Bors had to deal with The Knights of the Round Table and stated that it would shame them if they watched their Queen suffer.  Many knights said, “We love and honor King Arthur, but Queen Guinevere we do not because her actions have destroyed a lot of good knights.”  Sir Bors was standing up for the Queen because he did not want her to suffer and said that the queen was not guilty of Sir Patrise’s death.  After Sir Bors talked to the knights, some believed him and started standing up for the Queen but still others chose not to stand up for the Queen.
