A damsel riding
by on a palfrey calls to
Sir Tor. She asks him to give her a gift for King
Arthur’s love, and he agrees. She is able to convince him to behead the
false knight, Abelleus, who murdered her brother in front of her. The
damsel tells Sir Tor that she will shame him in King Arthur’s court if he
does not grant her this gift.
When Abelleus
asks for mercy, Sir Tor says he can’t break his promise. After beheading him,
Sir Tor rides with the damsel and stays at the home of her and her husband.
Before departing, Sir Tor tells them his name and his quest to retrieve the
brachet and
knight.
He was
welcomed back at
Camelot and was given armor and a sword from
King Arthur.
His father, King Pellinore, gave him an old
courser. Everyone was joyful
when Sir Tor told of his adventures and deeds.
Merlin then said that the
stories that day were nothing compared to what Sir Tor will do and predicted great success
for Sir Tor.
