Book 6 Chapter 18

Launcelot returned to Camelot two days after the feast of Pentecost and all of the court greeted him warmly upon his return.  Four Knights of the Round Table: Sir Gawaine, Sir Uwaine, Sir Ector de Maris and Sir Sagramore, saw Launcelot in Sir Kay’s armor, said that is must have been Launcelot who defeated them all with one blow.  Then all the knights taken hostage by Sir Turquine returned home and they thanked Launcelot for saving them.

Sir Gaheris then told Arthur that he had seen Launcelot’s battle with Turquine and that in this battle Launcelot slayed the strongest knight he had ever seen except for Launcelot. Sir Kay then told Arthur how Launcelot had rescued him when Kay should have died and how Launcelot made Kay’s captors yield to Kay and not Launcelot.  Kay then told Arthur how Launcelot left Kay his horse after Launcelot rescued him.

Next to come to Camelot were the three knights that fought with Launcelot at the lone bridge.  These men upon reaching the round table yielded to Kay but Kay made the men yield to Launcelot for it had been he and not Kay who had defeated them at the lone bridge.  Sir Meliot de Logres returned to Camelot and told Arthur that Launcelot had saved his life.  Launcelot then proceeded to tell the round table how four queens/sorceresses had held him prisoner and that the daughter of king Bagdemagus had freed him on request he fight in tournament for her father.  He then told the round table of what he did for Bagdemagus at tournament and how he had defeated three of Arthur’s knights:  Sir Gahalantine, Sir Mordred, and Sir Mador de la Porte, who confirmed his victories over them.  Lastly the lady that saw Launcelot injure Sir Belleus came to Camelot and after Launcelot’s request Belleus was made a knight of the round table.
