Beaumain's first
wish was for King Arthur to give him food. After King Arthur had given him
food, Beaumain's Second wish was to be knighted by Sir Lancelot. Sir
Lancelot decided he liked Beaumain's so he dubbed him Knight of Sir
Lancelot. The actual knighting of Beaumain's happens in another chapter.
Beaumain's reveals to Sir Lancelot who his family is and that his name is
really Gareth. Sir Kay was jealous of Beaumain's and didn’t think he should
have the opportunity to be the Knight of Lancelot. But Sir Lancelot tells
him that it isn’t right for him to be jealous and it is none of his
business.
The third
“wish” that Beaumain's had was to overtake a damosel. The damosel that he
overtakes isn’t too happy because she thinks he is way below her social
class. Since he had done kitchen work for King Arthur, she demeans him by
telling him he smells of a kitchen. He was very ashamed that she was saying
all the mean words, so eventually he got tired of it and he went to bed.
