Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994)

This movie version of Mary Shelley's famous novel stars Kenneth Branaugh as Victor Frankenstein, and Robert DeNiro as his monster. Even though it followed the book better than other versions, it was still pretty far off. As with every Frankenstein movie, the monter's intelligence level is below the way Shelley portrayed him in her book. Mr. Ebert did not care too much for the way the monster looked in this version of the movie. Poor Frankenstein's monster, he will ever be portrayed as the stereotypical "brain dead, bolts coming out of his neck, his joints don't work" monster who terrorizes poor villagers. Oh, the horror!
