Handbook contains information pertaining to Faculty Associates
employed in the Laboratory Schools of
Illinois State University.
The Handbook
is intended to be a reference guide for
University policies, procedures, and
services relevant to Laboratory School
personnel. As policies and procedures change, University WebPages will
be updated by the Office of the Provost,
Hovey Hall 410. In cases where there is a discrepancy between the original
University document and the Faculty
Associate Handbook, the original
document will take precedence.

Illinois
State University was established by the
Legislature in 1857 as the first public
institution of higher education in the
State.
Today it operates as a freestanding
institution governed by the Board of
Trustees, which has adopted a Constitution
to provide for the University’s internal
organization and governance.
The Board and the University are
committed to the preservation of academic
freedom and to the sharing of governance
among the students, faculty, and staff
who comprise the University
community.
The University affirms its
dedication to the teaching-learning
process through which it serves its
students, the body of scholars, and the
general public.
