What makes AP Chemistry at University High School different?

Instead of trying to fit watered down labs into the regular school day,  we have been fortunate enough to make an arrangement with the Chemistry Department at Illinois State University to use their facilities on campus.  Every Wednesday night from 6 to 9 PM we are allowed to meet in one of the teaching labs in ISU's brand new Science Laboratory Building.  We do most of the labs done by the ISU Chemistry 140 and 141 General Chemistry course plus any experiments that I would like to add (some of which we actually do back at U-High).  Doing our experiments at ISU gives us a chance to do significant experiments using a state of the art facility with access to all of the instrumental and research facilities of a major university.  What more could a high school class ask?   Thanks ISU.

This page is written to aid students in my AP Chemistry class at University High School. This site will provide a lot of very useful information that will maximize your enjoyment in AP Chemistry.  I have tried to include copies of the laboratory schedule and problem sets for each chapter (in case you lose the ones that I gave you in class). You will also find links to many tutorials, sample problems, quizzes, references, simulations, demonstrations and expansions on the topics we are discussing in class. Keep in mind, these materials are not meant to replace your class notes, discussions with you classmates or asking me for help. Working together, we will make AP Chemistry your favorite course at University High School. Check this site often for changes and exciting new information. Good Luck.
