    Physics at UHS
(2008-2009)

Physics at University High School is intended to  introduce the student to the basic structure
of our physical world. Physics is the basic science that lays the foundation for all of the other sciences,
using a few simple laws, a few equations and a great many observations. We are trying to learn the rules
of the game of nature.  Once we know most of the rules, we can play the game with more understanding,
     more   enjoyment and greater skill.

In our course we will use a modeling approach to cover such topics as mechanics, energy, waves, light, sound, and electricity.

"Our interest here lies in the first stages of
development, in following initial clues, in showing how new physics concepts are born in the painful struggle with old ideas. We are concerned...
with adventures in scientific thought
which create ever changing pictures of the universe."
               -Albert Einstein
