This course introduces students to a variety of psychologically-oriented principles. Included topics are basic psychological theories, the principles and applications of learning and cognitive processes, memory and thought, sensation and perception, altered states of consciousness, personality theory, the life span, and classification and treatment of abnormal behavior. The class will include frequent use of miniexperiments to demonstrate basic ideas. The successful completion of one major project, either a research paper or demonstration, will be required to pass the course.
