Design and Drafting |

Course Overview
This course teaches the knowledge and skills needed to develop technical
designs and put those designs down on paper and on the computer. The main
topics that we will cover in this class are:
Drafting - precise drawing methods
Design - engineering design, project planning
CAD - 2D drafting, 3D modeling, rendering
Prototyping - model building, working prototypes
Architecture - residential design and construction
A large part of this class will be individual design projects. You will be
a given a problem and some basic limits, called constraints. Your project
will be developing a solution for the problem, from the initial ideas to a
final prototype and presentation. Projects like this will allow you to
practice all of the skills that we cover in this course. We will also have
smaller “design challenges” that are a chance to have fun while working on
shorter projects.
