The Technology Student Association (TSA) is the national organization for technology education students. Since 1978 it has grown to 75,000 high school, intermediate and elementary students in 1,400 chapters spanning 43 states. TSA also includes educators, parents and business leaders who believe in the need for a technology literate society and are working hard to achieve that goal. This is the web-page of the U High Chapter of TSA. The one unifying characteristic of all of our members (40+ at the last count!) is a fascination with technology and how we can use it to affect the world around us. Weather that is building a hovercraft to sweep over Redbird Field, creating this web-page, or exploring the mechanics of flight, we are all caught up in this fascination. But we don't only offer support for isolated endeavors into the wide field of technology, we also are involved in our community in a variety of ways.
But beyond that joining the TSA is an opportunity to learn valuable skills in leadership and working in a group, the skill reported most desirable by the majority of business in our area above skills in math, science or anything else. We achieve these goals in a variety of ways. All of our activity is divided up into committees that work together to get the job done. But each committee has a leader, and by taking that position he takes the burden of coordinating the project upon himself. We also have speakers come in and talk to us about leadership, but most of our learning comes from hands-on experience. If you are interested, check out our chapter more by going to the Committees, Current Events, Pictures or Contact pages. We also offer links to other tech sites, and a tour of our tech lab. |
