Golf Course Renovation
Like anything else, golf courses tend to wear out over time. Even the best quality of care and maintenance cannot compensate for outside factors such as weather, overuse, and natural aging of the facilities. It is at this time that the company doing the remodeling, oftentimes the original architect, goes back to their master plans and looks at possible alterations that can be made in order to spruce the course up again. In addition to the general face lift the course receives, one may choose to change and alter certain features of the course, including the layout and design of entire holes, thus altering the existing course and creating a entirely new one. This project, while sometimes costly, can bring even more revenue to the course because now it is still played by those who played before, and also attracts new players who appreciate the changes made. However, the danger to remodeling is that newer parts of the course may stick out and give the course two or three different feels. The remodeling should help to revive the course, but, at the same time, should avoid making serious alterations that will break the uniformity of the course. The steps to remodeling a golf course are exactly the same as the ones that one would use to design one in the first place. While some may not be as in-depth as others, the basic format is still followed.
