CODE: A 5 digit item code is needed to order items from our catalog.
The first 3 digits designate each individual variety and can be found in
column 1 under the CODE designation. The remaining 2 digits designate the
size of the package. Please add the appropriate 2 digit size code when
ordering grass seeds: 1/2 oz. = 08, 1 oz. = 09, 1/4 lb. = 11, 1/2 lb. =
12, 1 lb. = 13, 5 lbs. = 15. 50 lbs. = 20.
N/I: N = Native to the Mountain West. I = Introduced to the Mountain
West. Many are naturalized, common and widespread enough to be mistaken as
native.
HEIGHT: Height of grass blades/Height of flowering stalks.
B/S: B = Bunch grasses form separate, independent clumps if unattended
in the wild. Bunches can be planted closely together to create tightly
knit sod as in the case of hard of sheep fescue. Usually this requires
supplemental water and ocasional fertilizer. S = Sod forming grasses
naturally form a carpet-like turf.
PRECIP: Minimum annual inches of rainfall to establish without
irrigation.
SOIL: Preferred soil or soil limitations.
LB/AC: Recommended pounds of seed per acre seeding rate for large
reclamation areas.
LB/M: Recommended pounds of seed per 1,000 square feet for smaller,
backyard-sized landscape areas.
